Ever since reading #MoveYourDNA and having my paradigm shifted (more like mind-blown), I've brought awareness to all the smaller movements that make up most of our days and our bodies, and then fundamentally changed my body into a more adaptable organism by consistently changing the shape of my body (hence, "Move Your DNA").
.
Standing work desks are a great way to keep your movement up while at work. Quite frankly, it takes more work to stand than to sit all day, so you're more likely to take frequent breaks.
.
And remember, swapping one position out for another is not the point. The point is to keep moving, so your body (which is like clay) doesn't get molded into one position.
.
That's why it's great to have some thing at your feet (like rocks or a half foam roller) for some foot nutrition, an alternate work station for squatting or other sitting positions to quickly switch with, and a timer for taking frequent movement breaks such as walking, hanging, or doing a ground movement routine (like the OHM MMR) to keep the body supple and strong.
.
And if you're worried that these things will take up too much of your time, just know that you'll be much more productive because of it. A sick person can't work anyways, and if you're deficient in basic human nutrients (like movement) - you're bound to get sick in one way or another.

This tree was just at my limit at the time -- in terms of the Vertical Run Up and Reaching to the lowest branch to Climb Up, the Leg Hook Traverse out on the limb, and, especially, the Swing Off to Forward Roll Landing.

I still remember the amount of mindfulness and technique that was needed to do that. It was enlivening!
